Law firm Veat, partner lawyer Baek Seung-cheol and lawyer Cho Eun-byeol were appointed as advisory lawyers by the Personal Information Protection Committee on February 29, 2020.
Lawyer Baek Seung-cheol and lawyer Cho Eun-byeol will serve as advisory lawyers to establish national personal information protection policies, supervise illegal acts, provide relief for citizens' rights, deliberate and resolve issues such as interpretation of laws, conduct policy research and international cooperation activities.
Lawyer Cho Eun-byeol has been appointed as an advisory lawyer of the Personal Information Protection Committee for the second consecutive year, following 2019, and has been active in the personal information advisory team of Law firm Veat, conducting a number of personal information consultations. She continues to provide legal advice on personal information, including a number of recent European GDPR-related legal consultations.
Lawyer Baek Seung-cheol holds qualifications as a personal information protection certification (PIPL) reviewer and a personal information protection management system (ISMS-P) certification reviewer, and serves as an IT specialist lawyer selected by the Korean Bar Association. In particular, lawyer Baek Seung-cheol actively conducts personal information protection education for various public and educational institutions.
